THE BEST ALBUMS OF 2023

It is regrettable that the album, as a coherent set of recordings and a musician’s storefront, is of interest only to a minority these days. The average person is unlikely to spot a new “better” song anywhere, because almost all media repeat the “tried and tested” hits. Prestigious music servers no longer bring us surprises as they mostly copy each other, which results in individualism and expertise gradually disappearing from the music scene. Despite these problems, we are happy to publish our editorial ranking of the most exciting international albums of 2023, and we will continue to explore new music in the year ahead!
